Day 18: April, You Fool

April is the fool this year. Snow? Tonight? Snow? The white stuff?

This Spring the white of the trees really impressed me - I was guilty of thinking that when Spring emerges, the snow of Winter gives way to the snow white blossoms of early Spring. I spoke too soon.

April, you fool. I've spent the past two weeks back in Winter clothes. Somehow I think Summer is going to lash out when its time comes.

I was hoping for a romantic afternoon and evening on the Tidal Basin, soaking in the falling cherry blossoms. That is my favorite part of Spring, and April, you have robbed me of that joy. So I will walk into Spring bearing the brunt of pollen and humidity with only the photograph of cherry blossoms and the Jefferson Memorial ... from years gone by.
