I spent today going through my chapter outline, editing it, and preparing to submit it with my query. This may be dangerous, but from my recent good rejection, I've learned that my book is singular and specific, but easily confused with a host of literature already out there. So I'm going to be submitting the chapter outline to clarify the book's style and genre.
I also spent a serious amount of time re-wording the query. Did you know the word "but" is one that should be avoided at all costs? Its meaning is more often, psychologically connected with the meaning "exception, void previous" than with the meaning "however."
